Come to the Early Years Expo to find out information on such things as parenting education, early childhood education options, in home child-care, Maori resources, oral health, pregnancy, breast-feeding, nutrition, Pasifika health and much more. More people are needed on the roster to keep the room open daily. You’ll build your knowledge and experience alongside librarians and other enthusiastic volunteers in a friendly group setting. You’ll have the chance to get hands-on with items from the Local & Family History collections, researching, and helping make them accessible to everyone. Our Heritage Rooms welcomes enquiries from people who are interested in offering their services on a voluntary basis.

  • Newspapers - Both the Horowhenua Chronicle and Horowhenua Weekly News have bound copies available on request.
  • Ancestry Library Edition is free to use within Te Takeretanga o Kura-hau-pō and requires a login and password.
  • It is open and easily accessible to everyone.
  • Horowhenua Family History Group - This collection includes books, microfiche and databases and electoral rolls.
  • Horowhenua Historical Society collection - This collection includes a number of photographs and maps, (also available on Kete Horowhenua) with further archives in secure storage.
